Girls,
spring is coming and all the big events of 2016 are waiting to happen, so this
is the perfect moment to leave the cold winter behind and start a beauty
session.
Are you
having a hectic schedule and you don’t know how to manage your dates in order
to get some free time for pampering yourself?
Here are
some homemade natural treatments for you to try on your own between dates or
late at night when you enjoy some time with yourself:
1. Do you have dry skin? Try the avocado
and honey face mask!
Are you
dealing with dry, scaling skin? Then the avocado, honey and coconut oil mask is
the right one for you.
While the
honey helps heal our sensitive areas, the avocado and coconut oil are perfect
for moisturizing.
How to make
your own skin care mask:
1/2 avocado (choose a ripe one)
1/2 teaspoon coconut oil
2 tablespoons of honey
Mash the
avocado into a paste and add the rest of the ingredients. Apply it to your face
for 10 to 15 minutes. Avoid the eye area. Wipe the skin with a warm cloth or
rise your face with warm water.
2. Do you have oily skin? Try a
strawberry mask!
All that
makeup applied daily on your skin can give you a hard time because of the
effects that it has on your complexion. That’s why it is important to pay extra
attention and to pamper yourself at least once a week with a face mask.
Did you know
that strawberries contain salicylic acid, great for a skin with problems, that
is prone to acne?
Mix them up
with lemon juice – that tightens the pores and removes dead skin cells and
yogurt and honey for their antibiotic properties.
1/4 cup mashed strawberries
2 tablespoons of lemon juice
1 tablespoon of honey
1 tablespoon of yogurt
Mash all the ingredients
together by hand and apply it on your face for 8 to 10 minutes. Wipe it off
with a warm cloth and then rise your face with cold water.
3. Do you want to regain the youthful
look of your skin? Try an antioxidant mask!
The
antioxidant mask has the effect of brightening up your aging skin. That’s why
for a homemade face mask it is important to choose a fruit that is rich in
antioxidants, like papaya.
Papaya is a
rejuvenation wonder fruit because it has a high level of antioxidants and
enzymes that eliminate old and dry skin cells, leaving behind a healthy and
glowing skin.
How to make
your own face mask:
1/2 papaya (peeled and seeded; be
careful to choose a ripe one)
1/4 lemon/lime juice
1/2 teaspoon of honey
Mash the
papaya into a puree with the help of a blender and then, manually add the other
ingredients. Apply it to your face avoiding the eye area. Stay with the mask on
for 10 to 15 minutes.
4. Protect your skin from sun damage with a carrot facial mask!
Did you know that carrots are
high in vitamin A, C and potassium? Also, the carrot juice moisturizes, tones
and protects the skin from sun damage.
2-3 carrots
4 tablespoons of honey
Boil the carrots, mash them up
into a paste and mix it with the honey. Apply it on your face for 10 minutes
and rise it off with cold water.
5. The late dates and the long nights
without sleep have affected your look? Try a mask that reduces the puffiness!
All those
lost nights, the busy schedule and the stressful days have left marks on your
skin? Try out a coffee, cocoa and yogurt mask to reduce the puffiness and to
detoxify your skin.
The coffee
reduces swelling and puffiness while the cocoa contains antioxidants that
reduce the ageing process and the yogurt helps moisturizing the skin.
2 tablespoons of ground coffee
2 tablespoons of cocoa powder
3 tablespoons of yogurt
1 tablespoon of honey
Apply the
mask for 10 minutes and massage the face in order to obtain an exfoliating
effect. Rise it off with warm water.
6. Does your body need some pampering? Freshen up with a body mask!
Use avocado because of its
anti-ageing properties and also because of its ability to heal sun-damaged
skin, scars and age spots.
2 avocados
3 tablespoons of sea salt
1/4 cup of honey
2 lemons – juice and grated rind
1/4 cup coconut oil
Apply the mixture on your skin
for 10 to 15 minutes. Rise off with warm water.
The hard work, the stress, the lost nights and the hectic lifestyle leaves traces on your face and body.
So do
not neglect yourself and try out some homemade masks. Not only they are easy to
make but it is also fun to experience with all kind of fruits and combinations.
